The Bicultural Diaries
Jan Davutoglu
In this BA project, the primary focus was purely on reflecting the inner struggles of people of bicultural communities in the United Kingdom. The main objective was on raising awareness for the communities and other parties that could have direct involvement or influence in facilitating such bicultural integrations a lot easier.
The research in Jan's BA thesis also outlined that people from these bicultural communities may sometimes just need their voices to be heard, the struggles to be acknowledged and simply see it being brought into light. Hence, in relation to his thesis project, his BA project was merely a continuation and an attempt at going form research to visualization.

Freelancing, advising small and big corporations on art and design direction
What is a good design for you?
Design that can communicate the message instantly to the viewer
What was the most challenging experience during your studies?
Constantly trying to be creative. Or sometime lacking the desire to be creative.
Who or what inspires you?
Students, professors, artists and designers that create with a purpose for a purpose
How do you approach a new project?
First by understanding the objectives and next by seeking for inspiration
What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?
To manage their time better, spare time for thought processes not only for design implementation.
Have you changed during your studies? How?
Yes, studying this programme has kept me on my toes and taught me to be responsible and manage my time well.
Why did you choose to study in your programme?
Ive always wants to be part of something creative and therefore wanted a career where creativity was its main objective
What are you not going to miss in your studies?
Not have enough time to absorb projects and in my own creative time
How are you going to celebrate your graduation?
Go on holiday!
