CHIHIROS REISE INS ZAUBERLAND IN SEINEM URSPRUNG

Aus dem japanischen Zeichentrickfilm von Regisseur Hayao Miyazaki wurden einzelne Charaktere herausgefiltert und hinsichtlich ihres mythologischen und kulturellen Ursprungs untersucht. Mit dem Blick auf ihre Beschreibung und auf die Zeit, aus der die Erzählungen über sie stammen, wurden die Kreaturen neu interpretiert.

Eine Illustratorin, welche sich nie so für ein Medium geschweige den Stil entscheiden können wird. Aktuelle beschäftige ich mit gefühlt jedem Medium im Wechsel, daher darf man gespannt bleiben, was als Nächstes kommt.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In 20 Jahren sehe ich mich als selbstständige Illustratorin, welche zu dem an einer Universität oder auch Hochschule lehrt.
Außerdem hoffe ich, dass ich dann immer noch viel Spaß habe.
What was the most challenging experience during your studies?
Am Studium fand ich es am schwierigsten, meine Illustrationen zu wertschätzen und sie nicht ständig zu kritisieren.
Who or what inspires you?
Wie man vielleicht meinem Projekt entnehmen kann, finde ich Hayao Miyazaki mit am Inspirierendsten.
How do you approach a new project?
Ein neues Projekt beginne ich meist damit, indem ich mir überlege, was ich mir darunter vorstelle. Ich schaue mir die Ansätze anderer an und bevor ich mit dem Zeichnen wirklich los lege, gehe einige Tage in der Natur spazieren. So bekomme ich ein detailliertes Bild von dem, was ich will.
What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?
Seit nicht zu streng mit euch selbst.
