Megan Richter's project BEHIND BILLBOARDS focuses on what lies beyond advertisement, which surround us in almost all circumstances of our lives. The projects focus lies in bringing the topics that are influenced either directly or indirectly by advertising to the surface. The consumer's perception is often what the advertiser wants you to see and believe. Beautiful products, tasty food, happy families or flourishing nature.

The project BEHIND BILLBOARDS aims to show the issues that hide behind advertisements. The concept is to bring ubiquitous societal concerns to the attention in a way, that viewers will question advertising more critically and be more aware of the background when viewing them.

Hi, I'm Meggi. A 24 year old communication design student.

How do you approach a new project?

I wait for inspiration to come to me in everyday life. When I find something that inspires me, it motivates me to start, and then I just go from there.

What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?

Enjoy the creative freedom.

Have you changed during your studies? How?

No. Still a procrastinator. (unfortunately)

Why did you choose to study in your programme?

Because I want to be able to work in a Creative Field

What are you not going to miss in your studies?

Deadlines. Which I will probably still have, at work. But still, it is nice to know that there aren't any deadlines for now.

How are you going to celebrate your graduation?

With a few drinks :)
