Dream a Dream of Rabbits and Foxes and Wolves.

Max Magnus

A lonely man wanders through a deserted landscape. He walks along vast fields, dead undergrowth and surreal looking woodlands. Now and then he stops, looking for the right place to bury a creature he carries around with him. All this under the continuous watch of three animal headed figures.

Max wrote his thesis about the representation/staging of animals in films. Something he found especially interesting in the films where the animal is not the focus of the story, but to carry some form of symbolism. This project reflects this - animals are shown in different ways, in the footage as well as the sound design.

I like films, comics and coffee. Slowly working on my vinyl collection.
I want to make documentaries and Experimental Films - or both. I'll see how it works out.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

In my own space, more or less financially stable/independent, having any social interaction that I need to have reduced to the absolute minimum. Hopefully still working as a filmmaker/something in that direction.

Who or what inspires you?

Music, literature, films, art in general, religion/faith/occultism/strange ideas people have about anything/conversations I had. Sometimes the sunrise, an odd shadow in the hallway, a funny looking cat. Currently a lot of Mozart and Colin Stetson, also Lars von Trier.

How do you approach a new project?

Have a lot of ideas, start planning, have the project be something completely different.

Have you changed during your studies? How?

Probably.

Why did you choose to study in your programme?

It sounded interesting.

How are you going to celebrate your graduation?

Sleep for a week.

Say hi!
