Die Hinrichtung - ein Neuanfang

In her series THE EXECUTION – A NEW BEGINNING, Laura Bartsch aims to demonstrate the similarities between the Italian Renaissance and graffiti, visually presented in the form of a mural, a canvas und two digital paintings. The new beginning not only refers to the similarities between these two art forms, but also describes the entire process of this project. My focus was not creating a project using mixed media, I wanted to visualize what these two art forms have in common.
The series shows an angel that just got executed. The angel is a metaphor of an old life and the finger gun is someone who is ready to start all over.

Who or what inspires you?
like almost everything.. I see a nice looking cloud -> inspired, I watch a show -> inspired, I listen to (new) music -> inspired
How do you approach a new project?
I'll just start right away.. sometimes a little sketch but most of the time I'll just do it. Trust the process!
What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?
Run. Run as fast as u can. And don't look back. No but fr start early with your assignments and don't be afraid of making mistakes.
Have you changed during your studies? How?
I'm more confident about my art now. And also broke.
