The installation PROTOPLASMA explores the mesmerising nanostructures in microorganisms (insects, animals, etc). Nanostructures are found in the tissues of life forms that absorb and produce colours from visible light that is reflected.
Crafted from chicken wire and rice paper, each of the five models is a fusion of art and science, adorned with intricate illustrations of insects and animals in black acrylic ink. Colourful lights infuse the sculptures with life, mimicking the natural luminescence found in the microscopic world. PROTOPLASMA invites viewers to interact with the unseen beauty and complexity of nature, examining the intricate patterns and vibrant colours that often go unnoticed.
The concept behind the installation is to magnify a small-scale, unseen element into a large-scale event, highlighting the significance of natural phenomena.
