Jamie Munhowen
John Heartfield war einer der berüchtigtsten Künstler und Grafiker im Kampf gegen den Nationalsozialismus. Seine politischen Fotomontagen haben bis heute nichts von ihrer Stärke eingebüßt. Das Projekt ANTIFASCHISTISCHER PLAKAT-PROTEST greift Heartfields Vorgehensweise auf, interpretiert sie neu und bringt sie in das Jahr 2021.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
I have no idea really. But hopefully I'm happy.
What is a good design for you?
Good design should not only look good. Good design should reach people and make them think.
What was the most challenging experience during your studies?
Finding the right balance between what I want to do and what I'm supposed to do.
Who or what inspires you?
People and their stories.
What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?
Be open for change. You and your views will probably change more than you might be expecting.
Have you changed during your studies? How?
My opinions on different topics have become much stronger and I have become a lot better at expressing them through my design.
Why did you choose to study in your programme?
I've always loved to create. And although art is one of my biggest sources of inspiration, it is super abstract and I needed something more concrete. Design is concrete but can still be inspiring. Also, design can change things and I want to change things.
What are you not going to miss in your studies?
Working in teams with people that don't work well in teams.
How are you going to celebrate your graduation?
Champagne probably.
