Migrating to Mars - Out of this World
Dana Taraben
Human interaction with space has increased tremendously with the growing role of Extravehicular Activities. Humankind has in fact created all the necessary technology to sustain life on Mars. After researching about the terra formation process and living with basic needs for the first few decades on Mars, Dana Taraben is exploring a path using Speculative Design to investigate a new society and a new way of living for potential improvement for life on Earth. It is showcased in MIGRATING TO MARS - OUT OF THIS WORLD, a book of collective visuals and short articles of events in the future of Martian life. How may future human enhancements and technology impact and limit our potential and how can a new culture potentially bring peace among one another?

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
Traveling the world and working remotely. Hopefully fluent in Japanese.
What is a good design for you?
A design with limitless creativity that speaks to me visually. More is more.
What was the most challenging experience during your studies?
Brainstorming took most of my time.
Who or what inspires you?
Conversations, the atmosphere around me and anything fictional.
What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?
Always share your ideas and don't overthink them. You have nothing to lose.
Have you changed during your studies? How?
Alot. I became more confident with my ideas and grew a lot of grey hairs.
How are you going to celebrate your graduation?
Not sure but I will be around my favorite people in Dubai.
