Carlo Dominic Soots Chavez

Mexican Film&Motion Designer, 3D Artist, and Animator.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Learning and creating new 3D CGI animations, since our field is in constant development.

What is a good design for you?

A good design is always the way you convey to your target viewers, something that appeals to the necessity of the client.

What was the most challenging experience during your studies?

RENDER TIMES

Who or what inspires you?

The inspiration that takes me always changes in each project, but the thing that keeps me going is the people behind me, the ones who have supported me through my whole career.

How do you approach a new project?

Each project is different, but I always try to brainstorm with my client about the necessities and outcome wanted, and further start working on scripts and drafts.

What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?

Do render test constantly with each little change that you made, which helps you know what has to be changed in future projects.

Have you changed during your studies? How?

Yes, not only by acquiring knowledge but by seeing and watching how the industry moves around us, motion designers and animators.

Why did you choose to study in your programme?

Because I was always interested in the making of major CGI films and wanted to study the 3D field myself.

What are you not going to miss in your studies?

Five straight hours of class.

How are you going to celebrate your graduation?

Going back to my homeland to celebrate and share my experience while here.

Say hi!
