Ada Retegan’s photo series FUNGARIUM IMAGINARIUM is centered around the importance of fungi in human life. The storytelling project explores the multispecies relationship in which humans rely on the abilities and wisdom of these diverse organisms. Presented in a zine, the fictional guide looks at different fungi and the impact they can have on human life, if humans choose to embrace this interaction. The project takes inspiration from different cultures who understood the need of a reciprocal connection with the environment, and aims to raise awareness about the voices of other-than-human beings.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In a genuinely happy and free state, preferably surrounded by lots of furry friends.
What is a good design for you?
One that is so fascinating that makes me wonder how could someone's brain come up with it, or one that makes me wish I did it, haha.
What was the most challenging experience during your studies?
Building up the courage to work with other people on my ideas, still work in progress.

Future Islands forever <3
What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?
Have fun, be curious, get out of your comfort zone and don't miss deadlines.
Have you changed during your studies? How?
I will probably be a slightly different person by tomorrow, so yes, I changed a lot in three years. "The only constant is change", right? I'm slowly becoming the person I want to be.
How are you going to celebrate your graduation?
With lots of...kimchi!
