Weam Al-Kubati
YEMEN is a hybrid exhibition by Weam Al-Kubati that takes two strings offline and online. YEMEN's goal is to inform and educate others about Yemeni culture, history, and heritage in a memorable way by triggering all of the senses. YEMEN is a project that aids in the creation of an individual experience on how to perceive the atmosphere of a specific space, which is then shared with others in order to learn what piques their interest.
Weam Al-Kubati
Weam is an innovative, talented, and enthusiastic Communication Designer. She is from Yemen the land of two gardens and is currently residing in Berlin, Germany. Her designs are defined by their simplicity, sophistication, and thoughtful details. Her life is full of surprises and adventures.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
A creative thinker and designer who inspires others with her ideas and designs. In addition, a person who owns her own business.
What is a good design for you?
Design is a broad term that can refer to anything and everything. As designers, it can be difficult to define what constitutes good design. However, in my opinion, good design must be understandable, innovative, and objective. On the other hand, the opposite does not imply bad design.
What was the most challenging experience during your studies?
As I was so passionate in my studies, the only issue I encountered is the working environment during the pandemic.
Who or what inspires you?
The surrounding, weather, family, friends, silence, music and many artists.
How do you approach a new project?
It's a sequence between inspiration and organisation of my thoughts.
What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?
Just do what you love.
Work hard to reach your goal, because this is the process of paving your way to your future.
Have you changed during your studies? How?
At the beginning of my studies my focus was only to graphic design then my spectrum has expanded broader to web design, photography, videography and many.
Why did you choose to study in your programme?
Because it is an innovative field that helps in expanding the creativity of a person and it guarantee a promising future due to the advancement in digital world.
What are you not going to miss in your studies?
Nothing, because what I learned at university is part of my journey.
How are you going to celebrate your graduation?
With friends and family 🥳.
