Why do I exist?
Am I free or am I condemned?
Why do I feel so empty?
What is that sickness in my stomach?
Uneasiness, angst, bad faith are feelings that can occur thinking about one’s place here on earth. As conscious beings, we try to find meaning in our own existence and since there is yet
a definite answer to be found, these thoughts can often end in ambiguousness and uncertainty. Whereas nature is just there. No thinking “Why?”, no existential crisis. Jean-Paul Sartre calls this phenomenon nausea. CONDEMNED TO BE investigates the human condition, tries to understand the link between the conscious self and the world around, and raises existential questions.
