THE WITNESS
ZINA ALATASSI
Zina Alatassi creates an experience of presence in the virtual scene, mentally and emotionally, while being in the physical space. Her project THE WITNESS describes the emotions of people witnessing events of war and the transition from the peaceful to the fearful state, during our presence in the physical space.
Audio-reactive visuals are created by floating particles that represent the states of peace and fear inside a pupil-shaped visual that changes its size according to the feelings and emotions of the user. The trip created represents peace and war and portrays the emotions shaped by each part.

THE WITNESS represents how the outside events are seen through the witness’s eyes with the affection of it on their emotions by observing audio reactive-visuals that affects the emotions and opinions of the observers. The philosophy behind is describing the emotions of people witnessing events of war and the transition from the peaceful state to the fearful state during our presence in our far physical space. The aim is creating an experience of presence in the virtual scene mentally and emotionally while being in the physical space.
THE WITNESS is designed to create a trip throughout audio reactive visuals representing peace and war and reflect the emotions shaped by each part. The audio reactive visuals are created by floating particles that represent the state of peace and fear inside an eye pupil shaped visual that changes its size according to the feelings and describe the emotions of the real witness and what the viewer can feel.
