In ihrer Illustrations-Serie DIE RABEN VON VATNSDALUR visualisiert Rebecca Nickel eine alte islĂ€ndische ErzĂ€hlung, in welcher Raben eine SchlĂŒsselrolle ĂŒbernehmen. Bestehend aus drei großformatigen Zeichnungen, sollen diese Illustrationen Betrachter:innen zum Schauplatz der ErzĂ€hlung begleiten. Um die AtmosphĂ€re der ErzĂ€hlung einzufangen und sie an Betrachter:innen weiterzugeben, wurde diese Serie mit Graphit und Kohle angefertigt.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Still on this planet :)

What was the most challenging experience during your studies?

All the grading of the drawings etc.

Who or what inspires you?

Books, myths, music, nature and artists like Edvard Munch and Theodor Kittelsen

How do you approach a new project?

With music and an unfortunately blank sheet of paper

What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?

I'd like to say worry less, trust in your skills - but then, I still fail to do that most of the time ;)

How are you going to celebrate your graduation?

With family and friends - and relieved
