Luis Cardel’s pavilion SOMOS AGUA combines three main experiences: Estado, Proveniente, and Pantalla de Agua. State (Estado) is a 360 cylindrical, immersive, audiovisual experience that has been developed over 8 months with an 8K interactive projection that conveyes the importance of water in our bodies and in the city. Coming From (Proveniente) is a unique application with data gathered by the SACMEX, the institute responsible for potable water in Mexico City. People interact with SACMEX through an augmented reality app that interacts with the model of the city of Mexico, at a scale of 1:10000 square meters. Finally, Pantalla de Agua (Waterscreen) is a holographic projection of a 2 hour loop, its choreography having been directed by Raul Tamez, a well-known dancer from Mexico City. The animations and several photographies were directed and created by Luis Cardel and his team.
