The handwritten note of Virginia Woolf left behind for her husband before she committed suicide is what drove this project forward — in its demonstration of the relationship between love and hate. It supports Sara Ahmed’s idea that love and hate are not contrary but rather dependent on each other, while the opposite of both is indifference. The typeface EMOT. was designed to represent this relationship and all the emotional stages in between.
