Originally from big, chaotic São Paulo in not as big but just as chaotic Berlin.

Giulianna Merola Fiorini

I'm a creative person originally from Brazil who came to Berlin with the dream of pursuing a degree in film. And here I am now. Please watch my documentary either on VIMEO or on YouTube, I had to compress the file a lot to make it fit on here.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Living a comfortable life with an established film and photography career.

What is a good design for you?

Visually appealing, functional design with good storytelling. Speaking of film, since I don't really think I have the type of eye for other types of design.

What was the most challenging experience during your studies?

Definitely having to learn how to do animation on my own.

Who or what inspires you?

I get a lot of inspiration from my family and the people around me. Listening to other people's life stories and finding interesting images created by other creative, talented people is also very inspiring to me.

How do you approach a new project?

Nowadays, I try to approach new projects with a lot of patience. Especially when it comes to filmmaking, nothing can be too rushed, otherwise it will impact the results negatively.

What advice would you give to students who just started studying in your programme?

Be patient and give yourself time to understand what you like and what you see yourself as in the future.

Have you changed during your studies? How?

I feel like I have a way better sense of myself and my future now. In the beginning everything was still kind of blurry, but that's normal.

Why did you choose to study in your programme?

I had always dreamed of studying film abroad, so I did.

What are you not going to miss in your studies?

Being stressed because of submissions! As cliche as it sounds, I don't think anybody will miss that.

How are you going to celebrate your graduation?

Giving myself time to rest.

Say hi!
