TURN THE TIDE (if you turn the tide you can change things to the better) – Only those who have the courage to change things can change them for the better. The Bachelor and Master graduates of the University of Europe for Applied Sciences cordially invite you to two special exhibitions for the study programmes Film & Motion Design, Illustration, Photography, Communication Design, Game Design, Visual & Experience Design and Innovation Design Management: archiv.ue-germany.com/exhibition. For the virtual exhibition, the Faculty of Art & Design will open its Berlin campus on Friday 28/01/2022 and the Hamburg campus on Friday 04/02/2022. We invite friends of art and design to take this important step with us and explore the final projects of our Bachelor and Master graduates from Hamburg, Berlin and the Innovation Hub in Potsdam.
The graduates commented on their motto TURN THE TIDE, which symbolises the spirit of a turbulent era. The graduation, in the form of this significant event, presents us with new challenges and tasks on the different paths we will take. Our motto reflects the inner intentions, which are crucial for us. With this in mind, we celebrate the vernissage with a new spirit of optimism.

A hybrid vernissage and exhibition is planned for the first time. Both the vernissage and exhibtions are open to everyone and can be viewed digitally – thanks to the ArchivUE platform, all the students' works can now also be presented permanently to the public and the professional world. The diverse topics not only reflect the zeitgeist in our shaken world, but also deal with topics that have not yet been discussed but are becoming more significantly relevant.
With the now successfully established platform ArchivUE, an innovative, cross-locational and technically sophisticated archive has been created in which the final theses and projects of the students of the Department of Art & Design are collected and presented on a long-term basis. In addition to an exhibition architecture, the platform is supported by an AI (artificial intelligence) and intelligent search function. The expansion of the collection of previous graduates, as well as student works with renowned cooperation partners and national and international award-winning works are now also presented on this platform.
In this graduation year, a group of UE students and alumni have joined the research project for the fourth time under the direction of the artistic-scientific staff members Evelyn Solinski and Steffen Klaue and Prof. Dr. Lauritz Lipp. Together with students Amit Heyman, Pia Roespel and alumni Dennis Josek and Alexander Mosorow, they have further developed the ArchivUE platform.
Turn the Tide shows how the artists express and develop themselves, and stand for a new form of togetherness.
