Digital Belongings Organisational App

Paula Cazares Carrera

Project Description
As seen in recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the “new” technology every industry is talking about and rushing to implement. Contrary to popular belief, AI covers a broad range of technologies, not just ChatGPT.

This project arises from personal interest and the need to organize my digital space, with the support of pattern recognition through a Large Language Model (LLM).

This document is a collection of the step by step and results of each phase to create a tool that through user behavior pattern recognition, can suggest organising and clean-up actions in the digital sphere. Meaning organising pictures, emails, music, documents, etc.

Conclusion
What started as an AI powered idea drilled down to a simple version of pattern recognition and innovative organization features. The innovative features include the music and email review as well as looking across apps for duplicated photos and media.

Duplicated photos across apps feature was intended to be part of the photos review in the initial wireframe. Due to time and focus on other elements of the project, this will remain pending. The decision to keep this development pending was a tough one but it ultimately came down to what the user showed interest in.

Some key takeaways include working hand in hand with the users. Mainly since as a designer I can sometimes be blinded by the technical elements of “this is how it should be” instead of listening and adapting to the needs of whom will make use of my designs. In this case I would be a user for my own design, yet I am only a population of one and this design is for the masses.

Also, iterations are endless. I was able to do two in this project, yet I can already see the unending process of testing and adjusting since needs also evolve overtime.
