I am a graduate student of Film & Motion Design program. In my studying I put much focus on cartoon animation, video editing, illustration and comics. As an artist I am fascinated of creating fictional worlds and fill them with incredible stories and meaningful characters.
I believe that my practical skills can be beneficial in the sphere of animation. I see myself as a productive member of a cartoon industry. Also I would like to dive deeper into directing and scenography. Anyway, I will always be dedicated to design and art.
A design becomes good when a consumer feels him-/herself as one with the product. I mean that a well design product or artwork or cartoon character must easily and freely enter one's daily life and personality. Also it must be beneficial for the society, whether it's something practical or spiritual.
There were many of them, very different and specific. But every challenge gave me both professional and life experience. The most conflicting of them was finding a reasonable balance between perfect expectations of my project and my real abilities and powers. Simply put, my own perfectionism was my biggest challenger.
I am able to find an inspiration from anywhere or anyone- fictional characters, real people from my surrounding, current global events in the world and so on. The strongest inspiration of me is an understanding that my efforts in the art sphere can affect on the world outlook one way or another.
Since I am still a novice in the professional sphere and I still have much to learn, I prefer to approach the project with planning and time management. Now I a understand that my own energy is as important as the time I have. Also it is significant to study a material of the project that I am working on, understanding nuances and potential perspectives of development.
I believe that studying it is a good opportunity to experiment on yourself. I mean that you can find out your own rhythm of working, test yourself in challenging situations, overcome your own comfort zone. My advice for any student in the film/animation/motion design sphere is to participate more in different festivals, accept projects that are a bit higher than your current skill level, and of course build up new social connections. Your most valued treasure here is EXPERIENCE.
The studying indeed changed and benefited my world outlook. Firstly, I realised that life and professional experience plays a vital role in the career development. Secondly, the art sphere welcomes only those people who are opened to some sort of risk and challenge, but it can also be a good soil for your inner development.
Before studying here I put my focus on illustrations and comics. But in the end I understood that I shall grow my roots further. Animation and motion design seemed to be a good and natural continuation of my artistic development.
Of course I will miss my friends I've found during my studies. Also I will miss this atmosphere of artistic freedom and challenges that I felt during the whole process.
My family from my homeland will come to witness me getting a diploma and support me. Also I will celebrate the graduation with my university friends within and out my studying group. Karaoke is a perfect way to rock this evening!
